How Our Program Works

A structured path to real, lasting change.

Our Program Model

New Phase Project provides a structured three-phase program designed to support individuals facing challenges related to:

  • Substance use and recovery

  • Stress and burnout

  • Emotional regulation and anger management

  • High-risk thinking and decision-making

  • Interpersonal conflict and relationship difficulties

  • Life transition and behavioral stability

Our program is specifically designed to meet the needs of:

  • Veterans transitioning through life challenges

  • First responders experiencing chronic stress or burnout

  • Individuals in recovery seeking continued accountability and support

  • Justice-involved individuals working toward positive behavioral change

  • Underserved individuals and communities facing barriers to care

Participants move through a phased process that builds awareness, develops practical skills, and provides continued support for lasting change.

Phase 1: Intensive Workshop (Foundation & Awareness)

Participants begin with a 4-hour intensive workshop, delivered in person or through a virtual option when needed.

This session focuses on:

  • Building self-awareness and emotional intelligence

  • Identifying stress patterns, triggers, and behavioral responses

  • Understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and actions

  • Introducing practical tools for emotional regulation and decision-making

Participants complete guided assessments and reflection exercises to better understand themselves and begin the process of change.

Phase 2: Skill-Building Sessions (Application & Growth)

Following the workshop, participants attend two structured 2-hour sessions designed to turn insight into action.

These sessions focus on:

  • Cognitive restructuring and healthier thinking patterns

  • Stress and anger regulation strategies

  • Communication, accountability, and conflict resolution skills

  • Real-life application through guided exercises and scenarios

This phase is where participants begin actively practicing and applying the skills in their daily lives.

Phase 3: Ongoing Telehealth Support (Maintenance & Accountability)

To support long-term success, participants are offered ongoing telehealth services designed to reinforce progress and provide continued accountability.

This includes:

  • Virtual group sessions that build peer support, accountability, and continued skill development

  • Optional one-on-one telehealth support for participants who need additional guidance, privacy, or individualized support

This phase helps participants stay engaged, navigate real-life challenges, and maintain progress over time.

Flexible Hybrid Delivery

New Phase Project utilizes a hybrid service model to meet participants where they are.

We offer:

  • In-person workshops and sessions

  • Virtual participation options for individuals unable or uncomfortable attending in person

  • Mobile services that bring programming directly to community partners and underserved areas

This flexible approach helps reduce barriers related to transportation, scheduling, stigma, and access to care.

Why Our Approach Works

Our program is built on behavioral health and cognitive-behavioral principles similar to those supported by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, combining:

  • Structured learning

  • Skill development

  • Real-world application

  • Ongoing support and accountability

By moving beyond one-time classes and focusing on a continuum of care, we help participants create meaningful, lasting change — not just temporary improvement.

New Phase Project also serves as a bridge between awareness and action. Many individuals recognize they are struggling with stress, substance use, emotional regulation, trauma, or life challenges but may not yet know where to turn for help.

Our program helps participants identify those challenges early, build foundational coping and accountability skills, and connect with additional support services when needed — including substance use treatment, recovery resources, peer support programs, and professional mental health counseling.

Through education, structure, and continued support, we help individuals take the next step forward with confidence and purpose.

Forward With Purpose

At New Phase Project, we don’t just provide education — we provide a structured path to help individuals move forward with purpose, accountability, and lasting change.
